What This Is

We are building and validating an automated scoring system for robotic inguinal hernia repair and cholecystectomy using console kinematic data (Objective Performance Indicators, OPIs).

Based on each procedural task (e.g., flap dissection, closure of peritoneal incision, mesh placement).

Comprehensive assessment across eight performance dimensions.

An overall score per task and per case synthesizing all domains.

To ensure the scoring system is generalizable across different programs, case mixes, and training environments, we are aiming to involve multiple institutions.

Who Can Participate

You're eligible if you meet all three of the following:

Perform robotic inguinal hernia repairs or cholecystectomies
Have access to a da Vinci 5 (DV5) system and the MyIntuitive app
Are willing to export/share the required MyIntuitive data (tutorial provided)
